The service is matched to your caravan or motorhome. Age, storage, recent travel, road conditions and maintenance history help determine what should be checked. Agreeing the scope at booking also allows time for any dismantling, electrical testing or specific repair you need.
Checks can cover brake condition, adjustment and operation, plus wheel bearings, hubs and seals within the booked service. Lubrication, contamination, water entry, storage and previous repairs can affect bearing condition. If heat damage, movement or excessive wear is found, we explain the further inspection or repair required. A full bearing service should be specifically requested.
Springs, bushes and visible running gear can be assessed alongside tyre pressure, condition, age and uneven wear. The service may also include the coupling, safety chains and accessible towing hardware. Mention changes in towing behaviour or recent rough-road use so those observations can be considered with the physical checks. Visible leaks or damage are recorded within the agreed scope.
Road lights, trailer plugs, breakaway operation, suitable electric-brake checks and accessible wiring may form part of the booking. A mechanical service does not automatically include full electrical diagnosis. Flag charging problems, battery concerns or brake-controller warnings beforehand so our qualified auto electrician can assess the caravan and tow vehicle where further testing is required.
A pre-trip check can help after storage, when service history is uncertain or before a longer journey. We assess visible condition within the booked scope and explain maintenance priorities. Tell us about hot hubs, new noises, unusual tyre wear, warning messages or charging changes, even when intermittent. A pre-trip check and a full service have different levels of inspection.
Motorhomes combine vehicle and accommodation systems. Our work focuses on vehicle mechanical, diagnostic, cooling, auto-electrical and suitable low-voltage areas. Depending on the motorhome and manufacturer requirements, the agreed service may include engine oil and filters, fluids, cooling, brakes, suspension, tyres, batteries, charging and warning systems. Tell us the chassis and vehicle details when booking.
Camper trailers need attention to many of the same wear areas: bearings, brakes, tyres, suspension, couplings, road lights and towing connections. Rough-road use can expose running-gear, accessible wiring and dust-sealing concerns. We match the work to the trailer, recent travel and future use, with related mechanical and electrical repairs discussed if the service identifies a problem.
Useful reporting separates immediate safety concerns from maintenance that is due, repairs to plan and observations to monitor. We explain visible findings in plain language so you can decide what needs attention before towing and what can be scheduled later.
The inspection depth follows the service booked. A basic pre-trip check, a full bearing service, a mechanical repair and a pre-purchase inspection serve different purposes. Let us know which one you need so the booking allows for the appropriate time and equipment.
If findings call for further dismantling, parts or specialist work, that scope is discussed before additional work proceeds.
Our Calliope workshop has a dedicated caravan yard for servicing and repairs. We discuss the work you need when booking, including any specific access, dismantling or testing requirements, so the service is planned around your unit.
Mechanical and auto-electrical capability helps with faults involving both the caravan and its tow vehicle. If a problem needs the two connected for testing, we will discuss bringing the tow vehicle as well. Repairs identified during servicing can be planned with the same business, subject to the work required, parts and booking availability.
Motorhome gas appliances, fixed 240V installations and specialist habitation systems need appropriately licensed or specialist providers where required. Our service focuses on the vehicle and suitable low-voltage systems described above.
Provide the make, model and age, along with available maintenance records. Include how long the unit has been stored, recent water exposure or rough-road travel, and the distance and type of trip planned. This helps us consider the service history alongside the condition found.
Describe symptoms as specifically as you can: when a noise starts, which hub becomes hot, how braking has changed or when a charging fault appears. If you are also planning solar, lithium or DC-DC improvements, mention those separately so the upgrade requirements can be discussed alongside the service.

Intervals depend on the manufacturer, use, storage, water exposure, travel conditions and maintenance history. Unknown history or demanding travel may justify an earlier inspection. Tell us when the bearings were last serviced and how the caravan has been used.
Dismantling is not automatically included. A pre-trip check focuses on visible condition within its scope; a full bearing service involves deeper agreed maintenance. Request the service level you need when booking.
Servicing is booked at our Calliope workshop and dedicated caravan yard at 6 Wright Road. Minor agreed repairs may be possible during the service; larger work, parts and timing are discussed before proceeding. If the caravan cannot be moved safely, call to discuss the next step.
Servicing checks known wear areas and identifies visible concerns within the agreed scope. It helps plan maintenance, but cannot predict every hidden or future fault. Report changes in towing behaviour or system operation between services.
